I just received and accepted my offer to attend USMAPS class of 2025. Send me your snapchat to be added to the groupchat that I will be creating. Looking forward to R-Day and meeting everyone. Congratulations to everyone.

Congratulations! I will ask my son for his snapchat info. I am wondering if there is a parent chat already for USMAPS Class of 2025.

Congrats to everyone on your acceptance! Former Prepster here and current USMA yearling - let me know if you have any questions about USMAPS, USMA, or anything else.

Congrats on getting the offer to attend USMAPs.

My daughter is currently at the prep school and is having a great time. She was a bit hesitant at going there at first, and today does not regret the decision at all. She feels she is being setup to be more successful at USMA when she attends there next year.

Couple funny tidbits;
No one sleeps in their bed. They sleep on a mattress topper.
You will get called a prairie dog
Going to USMA is called, "going down the hill" because its down the hill from USMAPS.

If you have questions let me know and if i don't know the answer i will pass it on.

Congrats

Hello, I just received an offer from USMAPS. West Point is my first choice, but I would like to wait as long as possible to hear back from the other academies before I accept the offer. In the end, I am going to pick West Point.

Congratulations! I will also be attending USMAPS 2024 my account is chris_rada2 🫡

You should do this via PM. Do not post personally identifying info on the forums 😉

What was the process like from USMAPS to USMA? Did you feel more confident? More Prepared? How hard were the academics at USMAPS? Thanks

It was such a great feeling to finally transition "down the hill" to USMA as we called it. Beast was significantly easier compared to USMAPS' CCBT, you're already more trained than your direct peers, so Prepsters are generally expected to be peer leaders and take charge, guiding their platoon mates. It is great already knowing nearly 200 of your closest friends (Prepsters) when going into USMA while direct admits struggle to build connections, so USMAPS leads to many different networks. It's for this reason that the class officers (President, VP, etc.) are typically Prepsters as well as the top performers in each company initially.

That said ... the academics were significantly harder at USMA and I struggled significantly. The academics at USMAPS were sometimes challenging, but much more comparable to High School and really more of just a transitioning period between HS and USMA. For reference, I graduated USMAPS in the top 20 but am well near the bottom ranking academically once at USMA. A significant amount of Prepsters decide or are forced to leave once at USMA due to either poor academics, disciplinary issues, or lack of desire to stay here. However, those that remain typically go into very high leadership positions both in the Corps and down the road in the Army.

Looking back, even if I had received a Direct Appointment initially, I would not trade the USMAPS experience at all as many of us built lifelong friendships, grew significantly in our leadership and resilience abilities, and learned a lot about ourselves through the process.

I have gotten my USMAPS offer last week, my snap is rangervargas

Are students there mostly athletes?
A good portion are athletes (majority football, track, etc.), many are prior-service, and other are there for a variety of extenuating circumstances (injury, low CFA, etc.). Once there, however, everyone is required to at least partake in a club sport or Sandhurst.

Hi, I have so many questions. Can you please contact me DM?

My son was told he has a strong vote of confidence for UMAPS, but waiting for the UMAPS board to convene. Does anyone know when that maybe and his chance of getting in maybe?

Yes, 15JUL-4AUG is the detail.
Thank you so much. Also, I have so many questions... if you go to USMAPS, do you still have to go through the nomination process and apply again to USMA? Does USMAPS have a more flexible schedule on the weekends, or do you still need a pass to leave? Can you have a car while attending USMAPS? Thank you for any information you could offer!
