Hi everyone. I read through previous threads that the first wave of nominations happens around mid to late January. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thanks in advance

I was told by my USMA RC that, at least for my region (Northeast), the first wave will start this week and go until late-April. However, I also got correspondence yesterday that the first wave of appointments would be tendered in late February (this was the candidate file qualified correspondence for LOA+3Q), so I’m not too sure. Guess we will have to see.

Congrats! Did she first find out by email or correspondence in her portal? Or perhaps another method?

Mine got a correspondence that he’s put on the National Waiting List! What does this mean?

mine did as well yesterday....
perhaps that will give you some clarity ^^

DD has LOA and has completed her file way back and received nominations in December just got her appointment yesterday. It's coming.
Congrats! The waiting game for parents is stressful too. Good luck everyone

I received notice of an LOA this morning. Kind of a bummer because I thought it was an appt. It says they selected me to attend the class of 2028 and then "as long as." I am by no means upset, by the way. I am ecstatic. Just beware when you open letters that just because it says they "accepted" you, it is not necessarily an appt. I need a medical waiver.

It is hard to celebrate when I still know I need a waiver.

Definitely celebrate this! There are lots of candidates (like my son) who still needs a waiver and do NOT have an LOA, despite having all apps completed in early August. If you really thought about it, you wouldn't have received an actual official appointment until your waiver was resolved anyway. But I understand getting excited about seeing any correspondence. Best of luck to you!

Do they know you need a waiver? How long have they known?

Why would they give you a late LOA?

This is not an offer of appointment. But it can’t be seen as bad news.

Yes, I will! Thank you for the advice and encouragement!

They have known I needed a waiver for about 3 weeks now. I do not know why I would get an LOA now. From what I have heard, they review the waiver more thoroughly once a candidate gets an LOA. This does not really make sense to me, though, because I thought they already waited to see if the candidate was competitive before REQUESTING an LOA. Idk, I will just have to standby for further information. Definitely encouraging, though because I have been a little worried about the whole waiver thing so it gets my mind off of it.

When the wait gets hard, I read the LOA letter and dream about I-day. You should do that too. Relax and don't give up the ship!

This morning I asked when appointments were going out and my DS got the call this afternoon from his MOC of his offer of appointment. They’re rolling out. Good luck everyone
Which SA?
