It’s a new equation each year, how many will need to come off the waitlist to fill spots, and how big the waitlist is, and many other variables. No way to estimate it or even do a good SWAG.What are the chances of getting off NAPS waitlist, or what is the historical record, or is there any info about it?
I feel like I’ve only seen maybe 7-8 people even say they got waitlisted for NAPS. I know not everyone is on this forum but I’m hoping it’s a small group for the sake of all of us. Someone also said Casey’s have to decide by May 1 so I’m hoping to see some movement from the list shortly after! Good luck everyone! It’s a new equation each year, how many will need to come off the waitlist to fill spots, and how big the waitlist is, and many other variables. Just got turned down. USAFA, UCLA, UChicago, UC Berkeley, or Yale now.
Just got the phone call from The MOC today so it’s all good. Now he just has to get over the jitters and decide in the next few days but I’m pretty sure he’s going to acceptGive it a few days to catch up in the system. If your son's portal has changed to Complete Pending Review instead of Pending, that is a sign that it will be within days. The Academy is obligated to allow MoCs to have the opportunity to contact their constituents to give them the news. Usually, 72 hours or so. Not all MoCs choose to do that.
And congrats to him!!

If he is fortunate to get the call to NAPS then he will NOT have to re-apply. His current information will be carried over into a new application and new CIS account - USNA will send him an email with the details. So, wait until the final status is determined. To save some time, if he truly will re-apply if not appointed to NAPS then go ahead now and start the MOC nomination applications all over again. A requirement for both NAPS and reapplicants. Essays should be different from last year mentioning how much more he has learned and grown etc. Good Luck.My DS is currently waitlisted for NAPS. His goal is NAPS and Class of 2029, but he wants to try again for the USNA Class of 2029 as a backup if he isn’t called off the list. Does he reapply now or wait until he hears anything?
Thank you.
Trying to keep all options open as USNA is his ultimate goal
Go Navy!
Thank you so much for your help. I'm hoping and praying he and many others in here will get appointed to NAPS.
