Medical Waiver for Dietary Intolerances?

Just received my disqualification from DoDMERB concerning an intolerance to lactose. Is it common for kids with food allergies, or any type of dietary intolerances to receive a medical waiver from USNA?

Just received my disqualification from DoDMERB concerning an intolerance to lactose. Is it common for kids with food allergies, or any type of dietary intolerances to receive a medical waiver from USNA?

It is always difficult to predict outcome of waiver without specifics (and you shouldn't share specifics here). Outcome depends on many variables, including time frame, scope and extent of the problem, level of reaction, etc, so one person's experience doesn't mean yours will be the same.

Keep in mind, USNA' s purpose is to produce Naval (and Marine Corps) officers, and that means being able to deploy in any variety of conditions with varying levels of resources--any waiver decision will be based upon your ability to serve the Mission of the Navy and Marine Corps.
