Based on excellent advice from @Capt MJ, tried the Chart House for dinner with the adult kids Sunday. Came back today for happy hour just me, (new menu and hours).
Plan to come back as often as possible until I leave next Saturday.
The crab cakes are amazing and the service and view are unparalleled in DTA in my experience.

Is that the same chart house that I use for my homemade blue cheese recipe?

The restaurant is in an old boatbuilding structure out over the water. It built PT boats in WWII. Great view across Annapolis Harbor to the back side of Halsey Field House.

So many great places to eat in Annapolis and surrounding area, but I have a real fondness for happy hour with good wine or cocktails there with some quality nibbles.I especially love it in winter when it’s mostly locals.

Apparently they did a major rebranding this past week. Locals are split on changes. Happy hour now limited to Monday thru Friday which made our Sunday a bit of a shock. We chose to change course and go with the flow and did entrees.
DD ordered the butterfly effect table side cocktail, worth it. She then did surf and turf sushi and twin lobster tails with lobster risotto. That girl wasn’t going back to AZ without maxing out her lobster quota.
DS did the chicken dish which was quite lovely. Crispy skin was devine.
I had the roasted bones for an app, bone marrow is my weakness.
I had the prime rib with Yorkshire pudding and we shared the Gorgonzola herbed garlic potato skillet which is to die for.

And the desserts???

Oh my. DS had the banana split. DD had the key lime. To die for brûlées marshmallow.

The banana split was two whole bananas Panko crusted and fried. Served with mint chocolate chip, peanut butter swirl, strawberry ice cream and fresh whip cream.

The key lime had the best raspberry coulis I’ve ever had.

Yes, Dutch market, ran an errand to buy a pair of sandals and had no idea the shoe store was in the same shopping center. Had to go, couldn't pass it up. Got a Philly cheese log, some fresh green beans for dinner, cole slaw, and potato salad for lunch tomorrow, and I had to get a donut.

@A1Janitor, the only way it's making it until tomorrow is that it's a treat for my birthday. Otherwise, it wouldn't have made it to the car.

Well buy another and have it on my birthday on Saturday.

The only way I would be able to save a donut for tomorrow is if I bought a dozen today.

I miss visiting Annapolis. I got out 3-4 times a year while DD was at USNA. I still do the cross country flight for "work"+ a DD visit, but she's in DC for the moment and we just haven't gotten out to Annapolis.

DD moves to Norfolk in July. It's gonna be too far out from DC to justify including a visit with her in the work itinerary. Sucks for me, waaaay fewer visits with DD, plus West Coast-to-Norfolk Flts suck. Tell you what though, that Kid is well-n-truly jacked about getting out of DC.

I’m south of the South River right now, picking up a dog from vet in Edgewater. Passed a place I’d recommend for an evening libation and seafood. Yellowfin. On MD Rte 2, Solomons Island Road, right on the South River. Peaceful.

Being in Edgewater also reminded me to suggest you explore London Town, especially the gardens. It was one of the original colonial trading towns, eventually eclipsed by Annapolis.

Of course, please tell me you are visiting some of the historic colonial mansions and gardens in Annapolis, such as the William Paca House. Some of the Signers!

And, the Banneker-Douglass Museum, in DTA, not far from the “circles,” for another deep dive into history.

Reward yourself at Potato Valley.

I'm running out of days, and so much to see. The dog sitting gig and work have me a bit tied down. One old girl is 13, the other young and rambunctious at 3. 3 walks a day minimum so I'm not getting out as much as I would have thought. Might try the house tours and Yellowfin next week, I'm off of Anne Arundel in Oyster Creek, so not far from there.

Just finished another evening walk on Thomas Pointe, paid the the parking pass for the month and have enjoyed evenings there.

Thanks again for all of the recommendations.

Whoop 🙌🏼 whoop! I’m a May Day Taurus ♉️ my husband is May 3rd and my dad’s birthday is also April 22nd. Lots of good birthday juju in this thread! And boy am I’m hopeful I can be a frequent visitor to all that deliciousness!!!

I just moved the donut bag on the counter to put dinner things away. The maple aroma that wafted out was incredible. My fortitude is being tested.
