USAFA Waiting Page C/O 2028

@cljones9204 I read the candidate handbook today and realized that tomorrow (4/21) is USAFA’s deadline for notifying non selectees.

So, Cheers to making it through tomorrow! Hope your dd gets good news soon!!!

Received an offer for the falcon foundation scholarship from the waitlist this morning. My golden letter with the waitlist offer for FFS disappeared yesterday, and this morning my new one with the offer replaced it. There's still hope, keep your heads up.

Make sure you add your info to the FFS thread. I think it's under the prep school tab. Congratulations!

I have a question regarding the Falcon Foundation Scholarship, with an accepted offer do we get a similar blue folder/certificate that the direct appointees get?

My DS hasn't received one, but I did see that the person in charge of FFS comes to NWP to present them to the students. I assume that he also goes to the other prep schools to do the same.

My DD got waitlisted. Does anyone know the chances to get in? Any stats from last year? Where can I find the info?

What was she waitlisted for? Direct, USAFA prep, or FF prep? If FF, I was told all the FF preps are waitlisted in the beginning. My ds found out he was waitlisted April 21, 2023. He then found out he got the ff scholarship in mid May. I think if she was waitlisted for FF, there’s a very good chance she’ll get it but I don’t know the stats. **FYI: my son emailed FF and USAFA to thank them for adding him to the wait list. He chose nmmi and it’s been a great year and he did get an appointment (I think we found out in march 2024). Nmmi did a great job at preparing them!

Direct. What’s the chance to get in?

That may be true for most, but not all.
My DS got the FFS March 21, he wasn't wait listed first. The offer did come with a direct TD letter though.

Still pending.

Can anyone offer insight into this category of no appointment, no TWE, no Waitlist notification at this stage? I’m assuming we’re waiting on an appointee in our state to accept/decline their appointment, but I’m speculating.

You don’t get the blue folder. You do get a certificate at your prep school with the scholarship on it.

A bit of encouragement for all those that are on to plan B. If your goal is to be an officer in the Air Force, there are many paths. USAFA is just one of them.

I spoke with a couple at church yesterday who’s son attended Embry Riddle and commissioned via ROTC. He is now stationed in Lakenheath in the UK flying F-35s! Don’t be discoured, where there is a will there is a way.

My daughter has not recieved a no, waitlist, scholarship or prep school offer at all yet ... the wait is very brutal! I am a single mom and at this point regarding my pay periods, I am sending in our deposit for room, and everything else. Hopefully the funds can be refunded if the stars align and she's appointed ❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸
