What is the process for testing out of classes? As a college reapplicant I have already done a year of Mechanical Engineering and would like to not have to retake Calculus I and II as well as Physics I and II. Thank you.

Retaking those classes will not hurt you, in fact, one could argue they'll give you leg up. Also by retaking them, it will ensure you are doing it the "USNA way", and should be easy A's. It's not like you're going to graduate early. You'll appreciate having an easier academic year when you are trying to sort out everything else.

You will get a chance to sit down with your academic advisor at the end of Plebe Summer. They will go over what you validated and assist with your goals, possible majors you are looking at, and what it could open up down the road and how to help work with you for those goals. Good luck.

-Calculus: You will take a validation exam before plebe summer at home
-Chemistry: You will take a validation exam during plebe summer
-Physics: You will take a validation exam during plebe summer
Other courses: You can work with the different academic departments to try to validate classes. It is common for them to make you pass a USNA final exam in the course to get the validation.
