I’m a rising freshman at a university and I’m finding conflicting information on when the board actually meets for PLC along with deadlines for having a package submitted. Ideally I’d like as much time as possible to improve my PFT score. The officer selection officer is taking a while to get back to me on some of my questions, I know it’s his job to answer them but I can’t help but feel I should exhaust other avenues before going to him as not to damage our relationship before I even arrive at his district.

As for my PFT, I’ve maxed plank / pull-ups and I’m sitting around 22:30 for the run

The OSO will have the info on when your package is due, their deadline and best advice on waiting or not with scores. The OSO will know best in how competitive things are and if it’s best to wait or not. There is a Reddit thread for USMC OCS. It might help get an idea for timelines and what competitive packages look like.

have you contracted yet? just curious because my DD is about the same scenario...she has been to MEPS taken her PFT, submitted the application and waiting to sign/contract.

Update: My DD signed her contract and swore in for PLC a couple weeks ago. Happy for her! She will go to the first 6 week training phase Summer 2024.

Good for her. Tell her to try the bulgogi at "My Deli" in Quantico when she can. I always stop there for lunch the few times I'm in the neighborhood. I'm sure she'll enjoy the Quigley.

She does like Korean food...will do!
