Odd USAFA question:

Son received a medical waiver for USAFA and AFROTC.

Had a tough time initially with the CFA and he missed the USAFA deadline for submitting a qualifying score by 31 Dec 23.

He really kept at it in the gym and on the track; he submitted a qualifying CFA to USNA by their deadline of 31 Jan 24.

He's received USNA & USMMA nominations from our MOC, but not USAFA.

Q1: Can USAFA obtain CFA results from USNA?

Q2: Can USAFA "find" a nomination source this late in the process, especially since he's been through DoDMERB and granted a waiver already by USAFA and AFROTC (common waiver authority)?

Son hasn't emailed USAFA admissions yet with these questions, he thought he'd wait to see if anyone here has encountered this before he gets his hopes up.

Anecdotally, USAFA seems to be lead the pack with very aggressive and robust candidate processing processes as compared to the other SAs.

Thanks!

USAFA can not obtain CFA from USNA. Your son will have to ask the CFA administrator to send the scores to USAFA, if he (administrator) still has the link. If the link is expired, he can get in touch with his AO or ALO and ask him to send the administrator another link. But I suspect if he missed the USAFA deadline, he may not be allowed to submit the score this late in the process.
If he doesn't have a nomination to USAFA, chances of his getting an appointment are slim to none, considering his application is incomplete. But there have been instances where a SA has worked behind the scenes with other SAs to transfer the nomination and appoint the student. What I mean by this is: A friends daughter really wanted to join USNA. But she got the nomination to USMA and was appointed. During a candidate visit to USNA (after her appointment), she met the admissions director and told him her first choice had been USNA but she didn't get the nomination. On Apr 31st, she got the call that if she wanted to join USNA, they'd appoint her and transfer her nomination to USNA. She said yes, and has been at USNA for the last three years.
Is he under waiver review for USNA and USMMA?

He was single reason medical DQ across the board for all commissioning programs, only USAFA & AFROTC have granted a waiver so far. He's under waiver review for all other programs.

He's sitting on NROTC, AFROTC, and ROTC scholarships. Still very much in the mix for USNA, USMMA, & USCGA appointments.

He's quite content with the options he currently has.

I'll pass this gouge along to him & see if he wants to let things lie the way they are.

Many thanks!
