Has anyone received their 2024 SLE selections yet? what is the estimated timeline for those?

A few. Many more waiting to hear though. Still plenty of time.

Just a note.... Last year my DS applied to NASS, SLE & AIM. He also had a week of Boy's State and an International Leadership Conference jammed into his June. We were going to provide him the opportunity to go to as many as he needed to make sure he felt it was a good decision to choose a SA. He was wait-listed at AIM and eventually got the virtual option (he took advantage). His first acceptance was NASS (he went and LOVED it although the drop off was a little rocky). He received a no for SLE and a week later a just kidding letter and he was accepted. Unfortunately, once we got the no, we looked at dates of all his events, selected sessions and got flights for NASS. That being said, a no may not be a no for SLE. Don't be superquick to pull the trigger on flights and plans if multiple summer programs are in your future.

Two years ago my DS applied at midnight the Feb day the portal opened (1st or 15th?) and he got accepted on the later end of March or early April.

It’s based on mostly just location and timeliness in filling it out, I don’t think stats really matter for it.

DD got an acceptance three days ago. But I have to echo others; it is not required to earn an appointment. DS did not get in to SLE and got an appointment to West Point and will be part of the class of 2028!

My DS participated in last Summer's SLE. While he was at West Point, I spent the week discovering and touring the Hudson Valley. I remember my DS was super tired, but he smiled and said that's what I want. From there, he worked hard on the admission and rocked the interview for the nomination. He got accepted in February and is counting the days until R-Day to see his friend from the summer camp. They created a chat group after the camp. My DS knows little about what to expect and is more excited than anxious. For both of us, SLE was best, and I can highly recommend using this opportunity.
Side note: My DS did not pass the CFA during the camp, but he improved so much with a private coach because he knew what to focus on.

That is interesting. Thank you for sharing. Was your son on the waiting list for SLE?

Hi! Thank you for sharing. Do you have any tips for practicing interviews or resources that help know what to expect as far as the types of questions. Thank you!

First, we had no idea my DS would have an interview during SLE, so he was very unprepared. After that, he said he just answered their questions honestly.
For the nomination interview, he watched some YouTube videos with tips on distinguishing himself from other candidates. A friend of mine is an English teacher, and she did a practice interview with him.
Type of question: Why a military career, family background, etc. Youtube is beneficial

I love this. My son is using SLE to help him decide whether USMA is something he wants or not. He's not focusing on the CFA right now because he's in track season, but knows if he decides he wants to go that he'll have to do so over summer. Good to see that not everyone is already in perfect condition!

My DS is attending SLE. I didn’t know there would be an interview! Does admissions conduct the interview? How should he prepare?

My Cadet Squad leader interviewed me last year during SLE. I prepared like any other interview.

The cadet asked me questions like:
Why do you want to go to West Point?
What are the qualities/traits of a good leader?

But most of the interview was him getting to know me also. It's nothing to stress too much about.

Should I be worried that I haven't received any information as to whether or not I've been accepted or rejected for SLE? I applied on February 1st...
