  • I apologize that my post was pretty blunt. I have DEI fatigue. Tired of the idea we have to look through everything through a racial prism. I have an "adopted" son who is Asian whom I've mentored and is currently a plebe at USNA. He's doing great! When I think of him, "Asian" is the last adjective I'd think of to describe him because that is WHAT he is, not WHO he is if that makes sense.

Thanks for reaching out. I am numb to all this DEI, especially here in CA. Merit has been put by the wayside to diversity goals, like in the UC/CalState systems. I wanted to give enough details that folks could offer more tailored guidance - not implying her race/gender are her "qualifications". Thanks for the discourse! Any interest in adopting a daughter? lol I look forward to any guidance you can provide.

Thank you for being so gracious!

I'm probably not strong enough to raise a daughter :)

My reply is too long to send in a private message so please see my latest post in your original posting.

    Best of Luck!!!
