Hi everyone,

Just having some confusion with admissions and wanted to me advice about vaccinations.

I have many of the required vaccines but am missing some because they would like for the vaccines to be given within the last 4 years. With that being said could I not file the paperwork and get them on R-day? I read that somewhere but am not sure.

From the 2028 parents Facebook page:

Hi. My name is Denise and I am the point of contact for immunizations. Deb graciously allows me to join your group so I can post some information and answer questions.

I’ll start by commenting on a few of the most FAQs.

*Your child will need an additional dose of polio. This is in addition to the completed childhood series.
*If the Tdap (tetanus) shot in record is before December 31, 2018, you child will need another dose. Please ensure that this is Tdap and not just the Td. Wherever you go to receive the immunizations will know the difference.
*If your child has not started the Hepatitis A series, please have them start now. We will ensure that they finish when they are here. (We contact them via email to let them know when their timing has come).
*If your child has not ever received any vaccines, no problem! Please make an appointment with your provider and they will get you started. Again, we will contact the cadets when it is time for their next dose.

Some additional comments.

*Some of the paperwork does not address allergies. Please have your child let me know if they have any allergies to foods, medications or stinging insects. Plus the reaction that they had. They can write it in on the form or include it in the email. This will save some of the back and forth emails.
*Also, include the MEDCOM 829. I need to have that for their records.
*While it’s not required, sending your child’s immunization record is very helpful to me.
*Send the packet to me in one PDF file. Email is on the front of the packet.
*If you have already had your appointment with the provider and just found out your child needs additional immunizations, it is not necessary to make an additional appointment. You can send in the paperwork that you receive when the immunizations are given.
*Immunizations can be found at: Walgreens, RiteAid, Costco, CVS, Minute Clinics and the local state health department, just to name a few places to find them.
*Email is the best way to contact me. My address is on the front of the immunization packet that is on the portal.
*Emails are answered in the order that they are received. Please allow two weeks for processing. Once I have received the paperwork, I will respond to the email with the status of the packet. GREEN—good to go.
PENDING/YELLOW—something is needed. Email will tell you what it is. RED—I have not received anything from your child.

Whew. That’s a lot of information that I just gave you. I hope that it helps.

Beat Navy! 💛🖤

Personally get all your vaccines now before you show up. Your going to feel super sick

you will only need the dates, if you know the dates, enter them on the form. If you are missing any vaccines, go get them now if possible.

Get all of your vaccines as soon as you can.

And bring the proof with you as required - or you will get double doses like my son, who left the proof on the kitchen table. ;)
