Starting to lose hope, but I know I shouldn't yet.

It is April now, and my portal still has no information on any admission decision. I believe I am pretty well qualified and have a chance but it is been so long without hearing a thing and I'm starting to think that I didn't make the cut.

Thing is, I know three other candidates in my congressional district who are also well qualified, and from what I know, none of them have heard anything yet either.

Chances are that my district has not been reviewed yet.

Does anyone have any idea if there is going to be another large wave of direct appoints this month?
 
As you will see in a number of forum topics, you are still in contention for an appointment until you are notified otherwise. I have several students that are highly competitive, and they are still waiting. I know it is nerve-racking, but hang in there. :) Keep working out, avoid 'senioritis,' and commiserate with other friends waiting for their 'results' too. I bet you will hear some good news soon!

I have been making periodic updates to my application in hopes that it shows continued commitment to attend/ drive to succeed, but do you think that the Academy still reviews those things this late in the application cycle? Obviously doesn’t hurt to add it either way, just wanted an outside opinion.
 
It doesn't hurt so keep updating Admissions with significant awards, promotions, good news, etc. Attaching some 'proof' such as an announcement or school newspaper article can be helpful, too.
 
You are not alone in your feelings of losing hope… but everyone here seems to think you are in it till you are not! Hopefully you get good news very soon! 🎉

May I ask where you are going in the portal to update your application? My daughter tried to update some of her recent awards and achievements but it is not allowing her to make changes.

You received a rejection letter? If that happened, why wouldn’t they then give the appointment to someone on the waitlist?

I’m not entirely sure if they reviewed it because it is late in the application process but it never hurts to add more to your resume.
 
My youngest was declined then two weeks later put on the waitlist then just over a week after that appointed direct. His older brother was appointed to the USAFA Prep School very early on where some of the Cadet Candidates were given as little as less than two weeks notice. You never know what is going to happen until I-Day!
