Class 2028 Waitlist

The waiting continues. My DS is in waitlist for Class 2028. I just want to start the thread for all the waitlisters! Good luck to all!
Our DS is also on USCG waitlist (along with NAPS) and confirmed appointment for USMMA. Good luck!

Happy Friday!!! Are you hoping to hear anything today? Has anybody heard anything? DS has been busy taking two IB and two AP tests in the last two weeks. I am glad he is preoccupied with lax games, tests, CAP, and other senior night stuff; plan B is in motion while praying to hear from his first choice. To all the moms who are waiting, too, Happy Mother's Day! To all the waitlisters - well done!!! Head up, be proud of your accomplishments and hard work, and good luck on your next adventure!
My DD spoke to her AO today about why she was waitlisted and he did tell her they haven't made any waitlist calls yet. He also said she could get a call as close to a week before she would need to report. She was glad to speak to him but it did add a little stress knowing it could happen like that.

I wouldn't expect any waitlist calls until at least after the 15th since that is when medical waivers are supposed to be completed for those given conditional appointments. Also, keep in mind that graduation is the 22nd, the class of 2024 is taking care of all of their paperwork related to PCSing to duty stations, the class of 2027 and 2025 are headed out on summer assignments and the class of 2025 is prepping for cadre duties. Also, Admissions is currently handling AIM registration and requests for presentations at award nights for seniors. There is a lot going on. I know that doesn't help those of you hoping for a spot off the wait list.

Son is waitlisted.

He is still awaiting USNA, but has NROTC, ROTC, & AFROTC awarded.

He has been assigned to NROTC NSI Block 2. Now playing the financial aid reevaluation game with 4 Ivy’s since he’s bringing the scholarship and they have to recalculate any award.
My waitlisted DD also assigned NROTC NSI block 2. Still hoping every day for a USCGA call! Grateful she has a solid plan B.

To recap: Basically they may not take people off the waitlist this year and are planning to make standardized tests mandatory in the future. Also, I think he says 316 have accepted their appointment with 30 of them still under waiver review. As if right now, there is a likelihood that no one will be pulled off the waitlist for class of 2028 unless 30 of those who still need medical waivers are denied.

He also implied more people who applied early decision were granted appointments compared to RA. I believe somewhere around 200+ were given appointments who applied early decision while 150 were given appointments in RA.

One question I have is if you don't get pulled off the waitlist, can you apply early decision for class of 2029?

Yes you can apply EA. My DD was waitlisted and talked to her AO and he highly recommended applying EA when it opens up.
