Long story short I smoke weed and it doesn't effect me or at least to the point where it doesn't hinder my athletics and academics enough to get into sle, but I want to know if I will be drug tested or if this will forever effect my future in the army. Just looking for insight.

You will get drug tested on R-day if appointed and accepted. Quit weed now and get rid of any related habits. You still have time to change.

Can you expand on this. Like is it a process each attendee goes through I am simply attempting to see if I want to go to west point. What do you mean by if appointed and accepted.

For SLE you will not be drug tested. If you smoke on campus you will be kicked out and will not be able to apply for USMA as you will ruin your chances. You have an upperclass cadet in charge of your group at SLE, and they also write their review of you after the week is over which will come into play if you choose to apply.

If you do apply to USMA and get accepted, you will be drug tested the day you arrive, as it is not allowed on the federal level. Keep in mind if you still continue to smoke week before you arrive, and the test comes up positive, you are taking the spot of someone else who is just as qualified and ruining their chance of a future in of this established institution.

Also bear in mind if you choose to apply to USMA, when you fill out the comprehensive medical forms it will ask you if you do recreational drugs. If you lie and then the test shows up positive, you are further damaging your future in the army.

If you are appointed to USMA and you accept your appointment, you will be drug-tested on R-Day. If you test positive for drugs, including marijuana, you will be sent home.
To my knowledge, there is no drug testing at SLE. But like the above post says, you need to quit now if you plan to attend any service academy. If it's a habit, it's likely you will be disqualified.
