Hello everyone,

My daughter received her NAPS offer and she accepted it, but do they get someone to give special recognition at awards ceremonies or graduations?

My recollection is that Admissons will send one of the nice plastic folders with USNA seal on it, with letter of acceptance and picture inside, just like they do with USNA appointments, directly to the Candidate. (It's been a few years since I had a NAPS acceptance). If you want to have it presented, you can ask BGO if they are available, then coordinate with school. I usually do these presentations at Senior Awards night--its a great way to recognize the Candidate as well as promote awareness of USNA.

I laugh a little when I mention the "nice plastic folders." I am sure the first couple are special to the recipient, but with enough time in the Navy you recognize they are a dime a dozen, and they start accumulating !

Yes, your DD will get in the mail the acceptance letter in a nice 8x12 folder with the letter on the right side and a montage of USNA pix on the left side just like the current appointees to the Academy except the letter mentions NAPS, not USNA. My DD received hers within 2 weeks of appointment last year. Congrats!
