Hello! I am high school junior in PA and my family and I are quite new to this world of service academies and the process of applying. The process is quite long and intricate so I joined this forum to ask questions and so far all the responses I have got have been awesome. I figured it would be best to thoroughly introduce myself here.

Why I'm interested in USNA, USAFA, and USMA:
I'm interested in these 3 academies because they are some of the best colleges in the country, and they all have very strong engineering programs. I would also have the opportunity to pursue D1 track and XC at these schools. Additionally, they would allow me to serve as an officer. I truly believe that I am very fortunate to be born an American, as I enjoy many privileges that others, unfortunately, don't, and so I want to protect these privileges for Americans and allow other people to become Americans. My parents immigrated here from India to pursue a better life for themselves and their future children and I want other people to be able to do the same, to leave behind oppression, or a lack of opportunities to come to America and enjoy the amazing opportunities we have.

Academics:
I took the SAT last August and got a 1450 (710 math, 740 reading) I know the math score isn't great so I'm gonna take the SAT again this August.
I took the PSAT last October and got a 1420 (which is equivalent to like a 1490 SAT I believe so it's a good step in the right direction).
I have a 4.09 GPA on a 4.0 unweighted scale and a 6.02 weighted GPA on a weighted scale.
APs: 5 on APUSH Exam, 5 on APES Exam (I took both my sophomore year) and I am currently taking AP Macro and AP Micro. I will also be taking AP Physics C and AP CSP next year.
I took AFJROTC my freshman year but I dropped it because I didn't realize the full benefit of it because we were virtual. I also wasn't considering going to a service academy back then and I thought it would be better for me to take an AP class insetad (I took APES in 10th grade instead of JROTC).

Sports:
I am a team captain of my school's XC team and helped us win Districts and qualify for states for the first time in 11 years last fall.
2xVarsity in XC (First Team All-League & District Medalist)
3xVarsity in Indoor Track
3xVarsity in Outdoor Track

ECs:
NHS member
Member of National Japanese Honor Society (I take Japanese as a language)
I was the volunteer social media lead for a non-profit (I was in charge of creating and scheduling social media content for a non-profit that dealt with kids healthy eating and reading habits).
I have around 70 volunteer hours

I also into the NASS session 3 and I'm super excited!!!

Welcome, and thank you for the time you took to provide background.

Noting your background, you have some opportunity to explore. Just to get you started:

Are you good enough in running to be recruited by other D-1 programs?

if so this is your ticket.

Get in touch or even better have your coach get in touch with the SA coaches and let them know who you are, your times, your academics, and your interest.

I've emailed all 3 schools and they have told me the times they look for. I think I can walk onto USAFA if I get an appointment. The USNA coach told me he cannot impact my chances of getting an appointment (I'm not fast enough for the team).

Call and find out, exercise your live phone communications skills. That’s why they have a contact number.

“Hello, I’m Smokey Lastname, a potential Class of 2028 applicant. My parents emigrated to the U.S. before I was born/when I was X, from India. I’d like to speak to someone who can tell me about West Point’s diversity outreach program.”

During this process, it’s best to go to primary sources to research and do the legwork yourself.

From what I've seen online, you have to be invited to a minority visit, and only highly qualified candidates are invited. Should I email/call a Diversity outreach program and ask for more info about the program?
