I am lucky enough to be attending SLE session 2 in June and have seen posts about an interview that will be added to your portal.
Is this true?

Thank you for the responses!

It was true for my son. It replaces
the interview the interview you would otherwise do with your field force rep. He much preferred completing his interview at WP

It has been true with all of my students over the last numbers of years. As I tell my students, be prepared to 'lean into' SLE and be a good teammate during the session to make a good impression . . . and frankly, to have fun too!

Thank you guys for the update. Are there any obscure questions I should make note of?

Be prepared to talk about the following things:
- Why do you want to serve/be an officer?
- Why West Point over ROTC?
- What's a moral dilemma you faced?
- What's a time when you felt a strong sense of duty to do something?
- What's a time when you overcame adversity?

Come with questions in mind as it's important to demonstrate engagement by asking meaningful questions about what you're getting into and your interviewer's experiences. You could even ask some variant of the above questions whether they're asked or not. A bit more than half of those suggestions were actual questions my SLE squad leader asked me so these are standard West Point interview questions.

You will get the opportunity for an interview at SLE. It can serve as your official interview for your application. It serves the dual purpose of being a training opportunity for the leadership cadre as well. That being said, don't be surprised in the fall if you have to still do an interview with a FFR. Sometimes the interview outcome is not what admissions is looking for and may ask for another interview.

You will be interviewed by a cadet at SLE. This satisfies the requirement for your application file, but in general, you should also seek an interview with your Field Force representative. Cadets have limited experience interviewing in general, so the SLE interview is developmental for them also. If the cadet interviewing you isn't detailed or specific with their writeup, it may not give Admissions the insight they need.
