I think there's a luau tonight.I saw some last year after Herndon. Seemed like part was a swim across College Creek from Alumni Hall to hospital Point. Not sure what else is involved.

Now just called a “cook out”. Not a luau from what I heard. Don’t know if there is a story there or not.I think there's a luau tonight.
Hard to believe 1/2 way to the finish. Hitting the Blue Angels as well, I asked for pics last year of the changing out of boards and of course there were none taken.Kid said Shellback was fun. Then, back to Mother B, threw on some civvies (GASP!) and went to the cookout and downtown for some young adult shenanigans (he and some friends are already 21). Asked if he ended up on restriction and he said he didn't drink much as it is too expensive!
Moving some stuff out today and tomorrow to his car (at my parent's place) and then going camping this weekend with some of his shipmates.
We'll be heading down for the Angels on Wednesday. Hope the weather is good! It was perfect last year. I also reminded him to get pics of changing out his boards if he can at commissioning, and to save a set of the 3/C ones for me for his graduation collection.
Summer is here!
To be fair, the changing of boards from one class to another at time of cover toss has been proven to be faster than most cameras are capable of capturing.Hard to believe 1/2 way to the finish. I know of a couple. Not mine. Mine goes 2nd block.Such fun pictures from Shellback! Still waiting to hear about 1st block cruise. (I'm still waiting, maybe DS has heard). Anyone else have a 1st block cruise kid? Do they know yet?
Reminder that orders can change....last year at this time DS was planning on cruise out of SD for block 1. Two days before commissioning he was notified he was headed to Japan. As he was a late add he missed the briefing and with all the commissioning week events, CO was delayed getting him details. He found out Saturday night was to be on shuttle to airport at 0500 on Sunday. Needless to say all that packing and re-packing training they got during PS and Plebe year paid off. He pivoted, re-packed, got his phone switched over to international plan, etc. All worked out.Such fun pictures from Shellback! Still waiting to hear about 1st block cruise. Semper Gumby is right. My Mids summer blocks were changed yesterday. We’ll (Mom and Dad) get flight credits for the cancelled flights but we lost $350 on our AirBnb rental. Sorry that happened to you. For summer we plan our vacation with assumption DS will not be with us --2 out of 2 summers so far that has proven true. He is supposed to have leave this summer when we have vacation planned. If his plans change he just does not get go on vacation with us.Semper Gumby is right. What we do, is book fully refundable hotel/extended stay. And then if it looks like all systems are go, book an Airbnb last minute (if the occasion calls for an Airbnb). Often, there are discounts for late bookings, a bonus! And then cancel the refundable hotel.Semper Gumby is right. My Mids summer blocks were changed yesterday.
