Hi all,

I'm a C/O 2028 4-year AROTC scholarship recipient currently enrolled at UNC and on the waitlist at Vanderbilt, where I will enroll if admitted. However, I accepted my AROTC scholarship at a third university. Should I transfer the scholarship to UNC now and make a second transfer request if I'm admitted to Vanderbilt, or sit tight and wait to see how things play out before making any requests? I'm not aware of any time restraint on requesting a transfer. Thanks!

Based on DS's own experience plus anecdotes posted here, your request is likely to be approved the first time. A second time...not so sure on that one. In fact, I'd count on the second request being rejected.

Get in contact with Vanderbilt admissions ASAP and ask to add things to your application file and that may make all the difference. Technically speaking, the deadline to transfer scholarships have passed but unofficially they still process them…. The last thing you want to do is do a double transfer (shows indecisiveness) and one may potentially be rejected contact the ROO, admissions office, and your counselor to see what to do.

What Vinlijaheemglasow said! The Vanderbilt ROO is very responsive. But when you say 'enrolled' do you mean you already accepted your enrollment there?

Thanks for the input, all! Fingers crossed for good news from Vanderbilt in May, but I’m excited about UNC if not.

That’s correct—the deadline is May 15th due to the FAFSA issues this year, but I was advised to accept before then due to tight deadlines surrounding housing, etc. I’ve been in contact with the ROTC programs at both schools and they understand the situation.
