I think you have your answer (mostly). USAFA is not a reliable path to a nursing career. I'm no expert on ways to become an AF nurse, but they are out there.

I'd say go for it. Flying is a great job. Alternately, CRO can be very rewarding, as well (although I don't have personal experience there). Paramedic is also a fine career, but also one you can pursue later, if you desire. USAFA is a limited time deal.

It really depends on what aircraft and mission. It could be 5 or it could be 30+. I think my personal low was a little less than 200/yr, and high has been around 450/yr. How that rolls out also depends on if you are in a plane that does 15hr missions or 1.3s.

If flying is your goal, USAFA sends a large percentage of each class to pilot training. That's a logical choice. AFROTC sends large numbers as well, but the percentage of cadets going to UPT is a bit less. USNA also sends a large number to aviation, so that would be a good alternative. Army...

From the pics I saw, it looked like the ship missed the dolphins. Also, that ship can be 100k+ tons, and was moving at just under 9kts....that's a lot of energy.
