Boots have some heel slippage, what should I do?

Cotton to wick moisture away from skin with another sock over the cotton. 100 percent use mole skin. If possible get the next half size smaller time allowing.

    Are Bates Low Quarters acceptable?

The upper class Cadets you will be dealing with are not going to check your shoe brand. Black low-quarter oxfords. Leather finish.

    USMA Appointment after a refusal

If he wants to be an Army officer this is the most immersive, direct way to do that. As Capt MJ says, they want him in the class. This is a rare and valuable opportunity. Our DD had an ROTC scholarship to the senior military colleges and was touring the campuses when her appointment to USMA...

    R-Day Weight Confusion

Show up able to match or exceed your CFA video performance. Make sure your aerobic capacity can get you through a 2.5 mile run. You won't have any trouble. Congrats!

Guidance Needed for Daughter with Appointment to USMA

True dilemma. My take is to encourage the Bubble Wrap approach. Only you are familiar with the dynamic between you and your DD. But showing up on R-Day unable to participate won't have a good outcome. Just to add, she has been to Prep so she undoubtedly is aware of possible outcomes. They...

    End time of R day

It's a one time experience. Trust us in this. Don't miss anything. Stay until the end of the parade, find your Waldo marching. After the goodbye, try to attend the Supe's Brief. LTGEN Gilland is not to be missed. You will feel much more secure in your New Cadet's entry into the profession of...

DD used Sham Shine for four years at WP and got repeated praise from higher. Filled the need quite nicely.

    Low Quarters

They will not check for shoe brands nor the model. Just don't have the artificial shine. Real leather, oxford low quarter will be fine.

    DS has a wide foot

DD swears by this boot. Comes in widths, easy to get, lightweight, reasonably priced. Usually gets one pair per year. https://www.amazon.com/Belleville-TR550-Khyber-Lightweight-Mountain/dp/B015YL80II?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1

    Separation Statistics

Small portion of the 20 per cent attrition is due to honor. While it certainly happens, and it's not rare, it would make up relatively few of the 250 or so that separate.

    Separation Statistics

20 percent, give or take. Injury, academics, stress. Finally Cadets becoming aware that this may not realistically be their calling and opting out.

Suggestions for boots and low quarters

Congrats and well done. Bates are the most common low-quarter. Boots are widely varied for preference. Online is your best bet. You will have time to return/exchange if need be.

    Low Quarters

"High Shine" Bates leather is OK. "High Gloss" from Bates are not. The gloss has an artificial material. The shine is leather. When you get your shoes, order some Sham Shine. Great for quick and easy touch ups.

    Life Insurance Form

Ours took out the largest policy at time (420k and 26 monthly). the sole beneficiary was her sister and only sibling. It's a good policy and a great value considering that is is the profession of arms. Some serious training takes place.

    Speeding Ticket

It's an infraction, not a crime. Comply with the requirements of the citation to the letter. Don't worry about it. Just don't exceed 15 mph at West Point...
