    Current Plebe AMA

Math can be pretty difficult for some, especially those of us who have been out of it for a while. Do not worry. If they deem fit, they will place you in "rock math" to get you up to speed and if you happen to be good for the normal math track, you'll have plenty of peers to rely upon and learn...

    Current Plebe AMA

Current yearling. Show up as FIT as possible. Getting through Beast will honestly be easy as long as you put decent effort - they want you to make it through. What no one tells you though is that as soon as the AY starts, you will be tested significantly on your physical capabilities in a...

    Computer Package

I got it and would recommend - it's an investment in your academic experience and will may your life a little easier.

Congrats to all of you and your DS/DD - USMAPS is a tough but awesome experience that forms a bond like few others here at the academy.

Ultimate CBT Packing List and Some Tips

Completely understand - I recommend not yet and definitely don't bring it to CBT. Wait until you're a few months in and you can get a read on what your company and upperclass will allow. I've heard very similar feedback about the MOLLE 4K - my only experience with it was during Airborne school...

Ultimate CBT Packing List and Some Tips

I've also heard rumors of and have seen CIF now acquiring brand new OCP Molle 4k Rucks as well as TAPS chest rigs, etc. Right now, they're been issued to Sandhurst Spring Comp. teams but maybe also for the class of 28... I wouldn't recommend bringing anything special for R-Day except for maybe a...

    CEP courses

I took RS100 (same as RS101 but for recently graduated Prepsters). The class was useful and I learned a lot, but in all honestly, it took more time away from me that I would have been better spent going to AI for classes I was actually struggling with. I recommend going to the occasional CEP...

Ultimate CBT Packing List and Some Tips

For the most part, yes, at night when rooms are not subject to inspection and in certain parts of the room.

    Post Night 24's

Unfortunately, it looks like they didn't live stream it (after I spent over an hour searching for it online yesterday ...). They will likely upload it onto Youtube soon.

    Seeking guidance

This is great to hear and definitely a good sign. If DS is offered Prep, I would encourage taking it based on my experience there, but all the best to him!

    LETC experiences

There are honestly too many to list which clubs don't exist now, but I would focus on getting in and preparing for the academy as a whole first. There are many opportunities to familiarize yourself with clubs once here, including a Club Night for the whole Corps.

    LETC experiences

I remember thinking Plebe year that FAST was some boring, math club based on systems engineering, etc lol. That couldn't have been further from the truth! They do some amazing training!

    LETC experiences

Unfortunately, USMA's website on clubs is very outdated and many of them - like LETC - are no longer a thing. There are plenty of similar clubs though such as FAST (Future Applied Systems Team), Irregular Warfare Club, etc.

A good portion are athletes (majority football, track, etc.), many are prior-service, and other are there for a variety of extenuating circumstances (injury, low CFA, etc.). Once there, however, everyone is required to at least partake in a club sport or Sandhurst.
