Suggestions for boots and low quarters

current plebe - as far as boots go, I used the Garmont T8 NFS, and they held up very well, were very comfortable and gave good stability. Would reccomend 10/10. I wear the Oakley's right now during the AY and do all my rucking and military training in them and like them even more, but there...

    Swim Test

If I'm not mistaken, it varies depending on how the rest of your peers perform. Its based off a distribution curve.

For those who went to West Point, what was your experience like?

current plebe, I have time in the mornings between classes and would say that mornings are likely the best time to go lift. Right after classes from around 1530-1730 is probably peak time

    Current Plebe - AMA

That small bag for toiletries should be allowed, I don't see why it shouldn't be. As for the packing cubes, I haven't heard of those before but just did a quick google search - if they are what is represented by google then I would stick to Ziploc bags. The Ziploc bags will help you out so much...

honestly dont remember a whole lot but part of it is to identify blood type for dog tags and so that they have the info down the road if needed

Ultimate CBT Packing List and Some Tips

Current plebe here as well - Im a big fan of Garmont NFS for boots, they are light enough and durable enough, and have gotten me through beast, norwegian foot march, sandhurst, and other MD training. Also, if multitools are expensive, you would be better off just buying a soldi knife. The only...

    Current Plebe - AMA

i don’t remember a whole lot but they don’t do a whole lot of medical stuff, if you passed DODMERB you’ll be fine. They’ll draw blood for medical usage and might take weight/height, check for new tattoos etc but never seen anyone get turned back that I know of

    Current Plebe - AMA

I personally found a lot of use: holding door open, building tents to prevent against rain, take out the "guts" to tie onto your protractor for Land Nav, my ruck fell apart a couple times so I'd use it to tie it back up together temporarily, etc.

    Application Strength

Current plebe here - do AP it looks much better on a college applicaiton in my opinion and may allow you to validate classes

Qualified, but CFA Scores not ideal

Current plebe here- I had around the same scores as you with more pull-ups and less pushups. You’d be better off spending the rest of your time in high school adding awards and achievements to your resume rather than focusing on your CFA if you want to set your packet apart from everyone else...

    AMA - current 2027 plebe

Hey! For what it’s worth, I also come from a non military family, and was stressing about the PT before I got to CBT, and honestly it was not bad at all IMO. I did prepare by running around 2-3 miles a day before I came, but anyone that has played organized sports in high school will be fine...

    AMA - current 2027 plebe

I personally had 0 combatives experience before beast, and did fine during our combatives sessions, which were IMO some of the most fun parts of Beast. I think how much training you receive during CBT is really dependent on your company, my platoon (now AY company) prides itself on combatives so...
