    Texas A&M AFROTC

It's legitimate. They did this last year also, and my son was accepted, although he ultimately decided to do a self-prep year at Marion, which turned out to be an excellent decision.

Well, if Corps staff told you that, then I'd take it as reliable; but I have never seen anything close to that percentage reported in my son's four years. What might be driving the percentage higher is the denominator of only 400 graduates. That seems low for a COC of over 2500. That would mean...

Not sure where you got those commissioning rates, but A&M's is not that high. My son is commissioning from A&M next week, but their rate is somewhere between 40-45%.

Current Self Prep at Marion Military Institute- ask any questions!

This all tracks with what I gleaned from my son, who is just finishing there as a self-prep.

My son is also finishing up at MMI as a self-prep. He did the Aim High Flight Academy last summer (if that's what you are referring to) and received appointments to AFA and West Point. He ended up choosing West Point. If you are referring to flight training during the school year, my impression...

    Reapplication advice

I'd consider going to a prep program, such as the Service Academy Program at Marion Military Institute. The ACT is solid, so unless it's heavily tilted toward English and away from math (was it?), I'd guess that isn't the shortcoming. Also, it's my impression that WP weighs the CFA more heavily...

Received TWE on Wednesday despite being principal nomination, still passionate about USAFA - Not sure what else to do.

It has to be academic, doesn't it, since CFA and DoDMERB are go/no-go? Academic is a bit more vague, but I'd first look at SAT/ACT scores and, second, grades, particularly in Math, Science (Chem/Physics), and English classes. And doesn't the applicant handbook even give minimum SAT/ACT scores of...

Is the 10 meter tower jump required at usna

Unless you've done it, people don't realize how hard you land using a T-10. That's why they spend a week on landing properly.

Is the 10 meter tower jump required at usna

When I was in airborne school, the old saw was that if you froze in the door, Sgt Airborne was going to put his size 11 boot in your backside and you were going out one way or the other. I never saw it happen though. In fact, that was one of the good things about jumping in a stick; once the...

USMA Class of 2028 Appointment List - Self-Updating

I am told that one of those unicorn VP appointments was offered today to a self-prep at MMI.
